Biography

Tim Kelly has long been recognized as one of the country's most successful photographic portrait artists - unusually gifted in both the art and business of the profession. His desire to control all aspects of the creative process, which led Kelly to excel both behind the camera and in the darkroom, is what ultimately influenced him to embrace digital technology as his primary creative tool. Kelly's program will explore what it takes to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to foster your own digital portrait style, as well as focus on the business side of "going digital." Having tested all major capture equipment, Kelly also will present comparisons of the many cameras and backs currently available.

Tim is a Master of Photography, a Photographic Craftsman and a FELLOW of the American Society of Photographers. He is also a member of Cameracraftsmen of America, having been recently inducted into the group of forty lifetime members, of whom many are the legends of photography. A recipient of the National Award and the SEPPA (regional) Award, Tim has also collected over 15 Kodak Gallery Awards, a Gallery Elite, countless print awards and three times been acclaimed Florida's Photographer of the Year!

Always an innovator, Tim's studio was one of the very first to embrace instant previewing and other new technologies. Having over fifteen years in Photoshop experience, few can rival his digital expertise. The Kelly studio has   employed nearly every digital capture format, over eighteen high-powered workstations and a complete digital lab centered around his own Kodak LEDIIP system. As impressive as all this might be, Kelly insists "without excellence in marketing and customer service, there would be little demand for his portrait photography".
